From the late 1980s, much of Only Fools and Horses was filmed in Bristol rather than London, and most of the places are still there. Your BristolRide driver takes you to Whitemead House in Ashton, the block that played Nelson Mandela House; the garages on Duckmoor Road where the lock-up scenes were shot; Park Avenue in Bedminster, used for the Heroes and Villains episode; the Granary on Welsh Back, where Del falls through the open bar hatch; and the old Lockside café by Brunel Lock, which was Sid’s Café and is now Noah’s. The stops are close together, so the whole trip fits into an easy half-day.
